Madrid brings together contemporary art professionals from around the world for the 1st Meeting of European and Latin American Museums, directed by Agustín Pérez-Rubio – Director of MUSAC, León - and Marcelo Mattos Araujo – Executive Director of the Sao Paulo Pinacoteca - with guests including Chris Dercon, Director of the Tate Modern, London; Manuel Borja-Villel, Director of the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Madrid; Hans-Michael Herzog, Director and Curator of the Daros Latinamerica Collection, Zurich; Alfred Pacquement, Director of the Musée National d'Art Moderne/Centre de Création Industrielle, Centre Pompidou, Paris, and Graciela de la Torre, Director of the Museo Universitario Arte Contemporáneo MUAC, Mexico. The Collecting Forum will also attract other professionals, such as Han Nefkens, Mera and Don Rubell, Joop van Caldenborgh, Farhad Farjam and Eugenio López; and the Professional Meetings will bring together noted figures invited by Marc-Olivier Wahler, director of the Palais de Tokyo: James Lingwood, Co-director of Artangel, London; Bartomeu Marí, Director of the Museu d'Art Contemporani, Barcelona (MACBA); Lynne Cooke, Assistant Director for Conservation, Research and Publication at the Museo Reina Sofía; Inti Guerrero, Atistic Director of TEOR/éTica, San José (Costa Rica), and RMS La Asociación, together with Tania Pardo, an independent curator.
The participation of these professionals will complement the exhibition side of ARCOmadrid, in which about 200 international galleries will take part in the General Programme, Focus Netherlands, Solo Projects: Focus Latin America and Opening.

The event, organised by IFEMA, takes places from 1 to 5 February at Feria de Madrid
• The Madrid catwalk will sport a new name at its fifty-fifth edition, following the recent agreement that the event has signed with the German vehicle make, in which the latter has become the main sponsor and acquires the naming rights for the event. In this sense, Fashion Week will now have two main sponsors, L'Oréal and Mercedes-Benz. In addition, Mahou Cinco Estrellas has now joined this edition as a sponsor.
• On this occasion, the fair has decided to bring its staging forward by two weeks. This change enables it to open the international fashion show circuit without coinciding with any other leading fashion event.
• In total, some 44 designers will present their collections on the catwalk, as well as around 45 up-and-coming designers who will exhibit their ideas at the EGO Showroom,, at the CIBELESPACIO, featuring direct sale to the public

The event, organised by IFEMA, takes place from 2 to 4 February in Halls 12 and 14 of DC Area at Feria de Madrid.
• At this edition the fair will feature the participation of around 800 companies, a 62% increase compared to February 2011.
