ESIC acquires ICEMD and consolidates its leadership in Business training and Marketing

When two leaders unite, the result can be no other than a great change, an evolution of the business model they represent. ESIC acquires ICEMD -16 years leading training in direct and relational digital marketing- in order to create the Institute of Digital Economy. This is a new concept in training based on the challenges and opportunities of the Digital Economy, the technological revolution and globalisation, which underlines the leadership of ESIC in marketing and business training, thereby providing an unprecedented proximity to companies that are the driving force behind Digital Economy.

ESIC has decided to go one step further and totally integrate the ICEMD into the structure of the school by taking it over entirely. It does so, in the words of the General Manager Simón Reyes Martínez Córdova, with several objectives in mind: “to incorporate the institute’s know-how into the teaching and disciplines of ESIC, to strengthen the commercialisation of the ICEMD programmes in national and international markets where ESIC plays an active role, to generate synergies in new training methodologies through E-learning, and essentially, to reinforce the position of ESIC as a benchmark in marketing on an international level. With the acquisition of the ICEMD we will be guaranteed to navigate successfully in a world that is becoming more and more interactive, digital and social”.

In acquiring the Institute, which will be renamed the Institute of Digital Economy, ESIC, will offer the most complete education in Europe in the fields of marketing and business management, an unprecedented geographical scope and a whole range of on-campus, online and in-company business management programmes, with particular emphasis on the areas of innovation and entrepreneurship.

Thus, the business school will provide 4 university degrees, 3 general masters -Executive MBA, MBA Part Time & International MBA-, 3 official masters, 11 masters specialising in functional areas of business, 28 advanced programmes and 43 advanced courses.

Likewise, the ICEMD’s academic programmes will be integrated into ESIC’s procedures, while respecting the management autonomy of the ICEMD within the business school’s environment.


As such, ESIC-ICEMD will be the Institute of Digital Economy of the School through which digital, interactive and relational subjects will be researched and taught on-campus, online and in-company, thereby opening new paths by creating and developing innovative programmes with an avant-garde methodology.
