. Forecast Schedule for the Second Half of the Year
The schedule for the second half of the year also promises a packed agenda and the staging of a number of important events, some of international stature. In this respect, IFEMA, in its capacity as a sponsor for WYD, will make Halls 1, 3 and 5 available for around 4,000 of the 20,000 foreign volunteers who are expected to travel to Madrid between 15th and 21st August next, including substantial groups of Polish, Italian, Brazilian and American young people. Furthermore, Feria de Madrid shall provide the setting for the Dinner for Bishops from all over the world, as well as hosting the Closing Ceremony on Sunday 21st August, when the Pope will meet the volunteers taking part in World Youth Day.
During the autumn, Feria de Madrid will provide the setting for the staging of a total of 18 externally-organised fairs, including the following: Aviation Week, which will be taking place for the second time at the fairground; Metal Madrid, and Biocultura, the last two events taking place at IFEMA's facilities for the first time, following their staging at other fairgrounds.
